Depending on how you use Save My Stories, we may collect the following information:

• Story recordings, transcripts, edited story text, and story titles.
• Compiled biography drafts, chapter text, summaries, publication metadata, and related story materials created from family archive content.
• Storyteller profile details you choose to provide, such as birthplace, places lived, age range, and interests.
• Family contributions, including submitted questions, notes, names, and photo uploads.
• Invite links, invite codes, device-linking information, and archive membership records used to connect people to the correct family archive.
• Subscription and purchase status information from Apple, such as transaction identifiers, renewal status, and expiration dates needed to provide paid features.
• Basic technical information needed to operate the service, such as app version, request metadata, and timestamps.

How We Use Information

We use information collected through Save My Stories to:

• create and maintain family archives;
• store, organize, and display stories, questions, and photos;
• generate story transcripts and make stories easier to review and share;
• compile saved stories into biography drafts or family life-story collections when requested;
• deliver invite links and connect storyteller devices;
• manage subscriptions, trials, and paid feature access;
• improve app reliability, security, and product quality.

How Information Is Shared

Stories, questions, photos, and compiled biographies are shared within the family archive according to the visibility and invitation settings used in the app. We do not sell personal information. We may use service providers that help us host the app, store uploaded content, process requests, manage subscriptions, perform transcription or other AI-assisted processing, and operate the service on our behalf.

Private Family Links

Some family sharing features use private links. Anyone who has a valid private link may be able to view the stories, recordings, photos, or biography content available through that link until the link is revoked, expires, or the content is no longer shared. Organizers should share private links only with people they trust.

Story and Family Content

Save My Stories is designed around user-submitted content. Story recordings, transcripts, edited stories, family questions, uploaded photos, and compiled biographies may contain personal or sensitive information. People using the app should only upload or share content they are comfortable storing in their family archive.

AI Processing

Save My Stories may use third-party AI service providers to help transcribe recordings, lightly edit story text, generate story prompts, compile biography drafts, or create related story materials. When these features are used, story recordings, transcripts, edited text, archive context, and related metadata may be sent to those providers only as needed to provide the feature. We do not sell story or family content.

Purchases and Subscriptions

If you purchase a subscription through the App Store, Apple processes the payment. We may receive subscription status, transaction identifiers, renewal status, and expiration information needed to provide paid features, troubleshoot access, and support the service.

Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to operate the archive and provide the service, unless deletion is requested or retention is otherwise required for legal, security, or operational reasons. If a story is deleted or hidden, it may remain recoverable for a limited period before permanent deletion. We may also retain limited records when needed for security, billing, legal compliance, backups, or service operation.

Your Choices

Depending on how you use the service, you may be able to:

• edit story text and storyteller profile information in the app;
• control story visibility within the family archive;
• share or stop sharing stories through family archive settings;
• stop using the app at any time;
• request deletion of content or account-linked data by contacting us.

Children’s Privacy

Save My Stories is intended for family storytelling and memory preservation. It is not directed to children under 13 and is not designed as a service for children to use independently without family involvement.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect the information stored through the service. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
